AMD Processors Review

AMD Processors Review Description
At first glance, AMD seems to be travelling a strange path in selling branded memory if one assumes the goal was to diversify its market. With memory tightly linked to the processor, having the sticks labeled AMD risks giving the impression that they aren't compatible with systems already using a competiting manufacturer's processor. Attempting market diversification through branded memory therefore won't make much sense for AMD if its processor sales are already slowing down, in turn curbing enthusiasm for the memory in turn.

AMD Processors Explained

AMD Processors Explained Description

AMD started being a leader in CPU construction in 1991 and was the only one who was facing Intel when they built their first Intel 386 clone called AM386. Since that date, AMD has produced and started selling their AMD processors all over the world with great success.
Over the years, AMD has slowly taken a different path than Intel, grabbing the advantage of the always growing entertainment industry. AMD started producing CPUs better adapted for games and animation's softwares introducing technologies like 3DNow to enhance animations and motions in games, as in professional softwares.
From now on, AMD processors are getting better and never stop hitting higher levels in speed, power and technologies as you will see through these page

AMD Processor Performance

AMD Processor Performance Description
While Intel has been quick to regain a lot of the popularity lost during the past few years, that is no excuse to forget about the #2 company in computer processing. AMD made a name for itself with the original Athlon and Athlon 64 processors and it would only seem logical that its next generation product called Phenom (K10) was to raise expectations all over the place, and it did.

AMD Processor news

AMD Processor News Description
Even though in the recent years central processing units (CPUs) from Advanced Micro Devices were competitive on the mainstream markets, the company virtually ceased to compete for high-end desktop systems. Although we will see higher-performance AMD's microprocessors with Piledriver cores this year, the company will only truly introduce something radically better with Steamroller generation of chips, which are due in 2013 - 2014 timeframe.

AMD Processor Line up

AMD Processor Line up Description

Today Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., the world's second largest microprocessor maker, unveiled six new CPUs to hold off Intel while it prepares its next-generation architecture.

First, let's get a quick primer on AMD's CPU brand strategy, which can be a bit confusing.  AMD makes two major lines of CPUs -- a high end line dubbed Phenom II, and a budget lined dubbed Athlon II.  Athlon IIs lack L3 cache and typically feature slightly lower clock speeds.  Also, only Phenom II has a subfamily of hexa-core (6-core) CPUs, code-named "Thuban" -- Athlon II is only available in two-, three-, and four-core variants.  Both processors are built on a 45 nm SOI with immersion lithography process.
The Athlon II lineup has seen 3 refreshes this year (January, May, and now September), which have bumped processor speeds on the various lines by 300 MHz.  The Phenom II lineup has seen only two refreshes this year, though it also saw the launch of hexa-core models.
